Rose water has a history spanning thousands of years in perfumery, with ancient Persians, Egyptians, and Greeks using it in both fragrances and therapeutic applications.
The traditional distillation method for rose water has remained nearly unchanged for centuries: rose petals are harvested early in the morning and distilled the same day to preserve their volatile aromatic compounds.
In the traditional cuisine of the Middle East and South Asia, rose water is used to flavor sweets and beverages, while in North Africa it is often offered to guests as a symbol of hospitality.
