The information here describes the ingredient in general. Its possible sources may vary and do not necessarily show the origin or form used in a particular YUMA product. For product-specific information, check the relevant product page.
Description
Carnosine is a peptide made from two amino acids, beta-alanine and histidine. Although it occurs naturally in high concentrations in muscle and brain tissue, the form used in cosmetics is biomimetic, meaning it is produced synthetically. It is a well-documented, water-soluble antioxidant with healing properties. In-vitro studies suggest that carnosine has anti-glycation properties, protecting skin proteins from sugar-induced damage and helping to reduce wrinkles. In addition, clinical studies show it may be effective against damage caused by infrared radiation.
