Cultural significance: In India and parts of Southeast Asia, the champaca flower is considered sacred, traditionally used in religious ceremonies and as an offering in temples for centuries.
Champaca absolute is among the most expensive fragrance ingredients in the world, with a price that can exceed that of gold per gram due to its complex extraction process and limited availability.
Champaca trees (Michelia champaca) can reach up to 50 meters in height and produce flowers year-round, with each bloom retaining its scent for about 2 to 3 days after opening.
