Description
Additional information
Coumarin in hay imparts a characteristic sweet note reminiscent of vanilla and freshly cut grass, similar to the note found in the tonka bean.
The use of hay in perfumery has centuries-old historical roots, as the scent of freshly cut and dried grass has always been connected to rural life and seasonal harvest celebrations.
The name coumarin comes from coumarou, which is the French name for the tonka bean, another material rich in coumarin often used in combination with hay in fragrance creation.
