Description
Glycol Distearate is a diester formed from the reaction of two molecules of stearic acid with one molecule of ethylene glycol. In cosmetics, it functions primarily as an opacifying and pearlescent agent, especially in cleansing products, where it imparts a white and glossy appearance. It also helps thicken and stabilize creams and emulsions, improving their texture and skin feel. Additionally, it can act as an emollient, leaving the skin feeling soft. It is widely used in shampoos, shower gels, and liquid soaps to give them a rich look and feel.
