Chemically speaking, dimethyl adipate is an ester created by the reaction of adipic acid with methanol. Its molecular structure gives it properties that make it well suited for perfumery applications.
In the world of fragrances, dimethyl adipate acts as an unsung hero. While it is not the note you immediately perceive, it helps other aromatic ingredients perform better and last longer on the skin.
The sustainable production of dimethyl adipate is part of a broader trend in the fragrance industry, where over 70 percent of companies have committed to increasing their use of renewable raw materials by 2030.
