Description
Additional information
Isovaleraldehyde occurs naturally during fruit ripening, where it helps develop their characteristic aroma. This is why its scent feels so familiar to us, even if we have never heard its name before.
The human sense of smell can detect Isovaleraldehyde at extremely low concentrations, just a few parts per billion. This sensitivity explains why even small amounts can transform a fragrance.
Despite its strong fruity signature at low concentrations, at higher levels Isovaleraldehyde can take on a more metallic, almost cider-like note, serving as an example of how dosage can dramatically change our perception of a scent.
