Description

Myraldyl acetate is a high-diffusion ingredient that yields rich floral notes of freesia, lily, magnolia, and jasmine, combined with subtle citrus undertones. It features a rich aromatic profile and delivers excellent performance across various fragrance compositions. This ingredient is distinguished by its stability and long-lasting scent, making it a valuable element for perfumers. Its synthetic production takes place in laboratories, with a growing use of renewable raw materials that help preserve the planet's natural resources.

Additional information

The synthetic production of ingredients like myraldyl acetate contributes significantly to sustainable perfumery by reducing the need to harvest large quantities of natural flowers. Producing just 1 kilogram of natural jasmine oil requires approximately 8 million blossoms!
Myraldyl acetate offers a stability not found in natural floral oils, which often degrade over time or when exposed to light and heat. This property allows perfumers to create compositions with predictable and consistent performance.
Despite its laboratory origin, myraldyl acetate blends harmoniously with both natural and synthetic ingredients, making it exceptionally versatile across different fragrance families ranging from fresh florals to rich oriental compositions.

IFRA Standard status

The IFRA Standards form an industry self-regulatory system. They may prohibit or restrict the use of particular fragrance ingredients, or set specifications, according to end use. The status below reflects the IFRA data recorded for this ingredient. It is not a product certification and does not replace applicable law or assessment of the finished product.

Concentration restricted (R)

IFRA restrictions by category

IFRA categories group end uses by the type and level of exposure. A restriction or maximum concentration applies only to the stated category and does not automatically apply to another use. Check the related IFRA document for the applicable Standard version and its full conditions.

Regulatory information

The safety of myraldyl acetate has been evaluated by the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM), and a safety assessment has been published following scientific peer review. This ingredient may cause skin sensitization in a small percentage of individuals. This means that in a limited number of people, repeated contact may cause a temporary reaction, such as redness, rash, or itching on the skin. To prevent such reactions, RIFM has established a maximum acceptable concentration level for this ingredient, and the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) has established a safe-use standard for myraldyl acetate in home and personal care products.
