Benzyl propionate belongs to the ester family, chemical compounds responsible for many of the everyday fruit aromas we recognize. This is why it can evoke scents as diverse as banana and jasmine at the same time!
Laboratory production of benzyl propionate is up to 20 times more efficient than extraction from natural sources, making it a more sustainable choice for the fragrance industry.
In the world of perfumery, benzyl propionate is frequently used as a bridge between fruity and floral notes, helping create more balanced and complex fragrance compositions.
