Additional information
Beyond cinnamon, cinnamyl acetate occurs naturally in unexpected fruits like starfruit, lychee, and guava, contributing to their characteristic scent.
In the history of perfumery, cinnamon-based ingredients like cinnamyl acetate were traditionally used in oriental fragrances and warm spice scents starting in the 16th century, when spice traders brought exotic ingredients to Europe.
Perfumers use cinnamyl acetate across different fragrance families: in oriental scents it adds warmth, in woody scents it provides sweetness, and in fruity fragrances it acts as a bridge between fresh top notes and deeper base notes.
