Description
Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid, widely known as Mexoryl SX, is a proprietary sunscreen filter developed by the L'Oréal group. Unlike most UV filters, it is water-soluble, allowing for the formulation of lighter cosmetic products. It delivers strong and photostable protection primarily against UVA rays, with peak absorption at 345 nm. This makes it a valuable asset in preventing photoaging and long-term skin damage caused by sun exposure, helping maintain healthy and youthful-looking skin.
Additional information
- Provides strong and photostable UVA protection, helping prevent premature skin aging.
- Being water-soluble, it enables the creation of lighter, non-greasy suncare formulations.
- Frequently combined with other UV filters to achieve broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) protection.
