Description
Aqua, also known as H2O, is the most common ingredient in skincare. It frequently occupies the top spot on ingredient lists, indicating that it makes up the largest portion of the product. Primarily, Aqua acts as a solvent for ingredients that dissolve in water rather than oil. When it enters the skin, it hydrates from within, although applying pure water externally does not yield the same result, as prolonged baths can dry out the skin. Additionally, the Aqua used in cosmetics is purified and deionized, meaning nearly all metal ions have been removed, helping products remain more stable over time.
