Description
Cholesterol is one of the key lipids naturally found in the outer layer of the skin. Approximately 25% of the intercellular matrix consists of cholesterol. Alongside ceramides and fatty acids, it plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy skin barrier and preserving skin hydration. In addition to being an important skin-identical ingredient, it also functions as an emollient and stabilizer in cosmetic formulas, helping to enhance elasticity and protect against dryness.
