Description
Oxacycloheptadec-10-ene-2-one is an aroma ingredient characterized as a warm and soft musk, offering subtle notes of ambergris, florals, and a light fruity sweetness. In perfumery, it acts as an excellent fixative, enhancing the longevity and intensity of fragrance compositions, particularly in delicate floral bouquets or mild animalic and amber creations. This valuable ingredient is produced in laboratories through advanced synthetic methods. Notably, the modern fragrance industry increasingly turns to renewable raw materials for its production, thereby contributing to sustainability and the conservation of the planet's natural resources.
Additional information
- Oxacycloheptadec-10-ene-2-one belongs to macrocyclic musks, featuring a unique 17-atom chemical structure that gives it its distinct, warm scent.
- Laboratory musks such as oxacycloheptadec-10-ene-2-one replace animal-derived ones, offering an ethical alternative in perfumery without sacrificing fragrance quality.
- Acting as a molecular anchor, oxacycloheptadec-10-ene-2-one slows down the evaporation of other ingredients, giving fragrances longer longevity on the skin.
