Galbanolene is a synthetic green galbanum note widely used in perfumery. It is an extremely potent ingredient, typically used in a 10% dilution due to its high concentration. Galbanolene adds character and lift to green fragrance notes, while playing an important role in adjusting the natural balance of fruity scents.
In perfumery, this ingredient is used to accentuate the stem note in florals, particularly in lily of the valley fragrances, as well as in the reconstruction of essential oils such as Galbanum EO and Neroli EO. Although synthetic, Galbanolene occurs naturally in trace amounts in celery seed essential oil (Celery Seed EO) and galbanum essential oil (Galbanum EO).
