Triacetin is also circulated as a food additive under the code E1518 and is used in various confectionery and bakery products we consume daily.
Beyond its fragrance properties, triacetin exhibits antimicrobial activity, making it a valuable ingredient in cosmetic formulas that require additional protection against microorganisms.
Although triacetin is found in the scent of papaya, no commercial product extracts it from the fruit, as the process would be extremely costly and inefficient compared to its synthetic production.
