Description
Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol is a synthetic molecule with a structure similar to alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E) and functions as an exceptionally potent antioxidant. It is known for protecting against reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS), both of which cause cellular and tissue damage that contributes to skin aging. According to the TBA assay, Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol is a more potent antioxidant than BHT, trolox, or tocopherol. Its recommended usage level is just 0.01 to 0.05%, which highlights the strength of Lipochroman-6.
Additional information
- Provides dual protection against reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS).
- Demonstrates stronger antioxidant activity than vitamin E, BHT, or trolox in specific laboratory tests (TBA assay).
- Effective in cosmetic formulations at very low concentrations, typically between 0.01% and 0.05%.
