Dual role: Benzophenone is not only used in fragrances, but also serves as a key ingredient in many sunscreen products, where it functions as an ultraviolet filter to protect the skin.
When added to fragrance compositions, benzophenone helps the scent last longer on the skin by acting as a stabilizer for the blend.
The name benzophenone comes from its chemical structure, featuring two phenyl groups attached to a carbonyl group, creating a molecule with notable stability and multiple applications beyond the world of fragrances.
