Benzyl formate is one of the key ingredients that give artificial cherry aromas their characteristic scent. When you perceive that recognizable cherry note in sweets or beverages, it is often due to the presence of this ingredient!
In the world of perfumery, benzyl formate acts as a bridge between fruity and spicy notes, allowing perfumers to create more complex and multidimensional fragrance compositions.
Surprisingly, benzyl formate is found in both sweet fruits and mushrooms, an unexpected connection between two completely different food categories. This unusual crossover of aromatic worlds demonstrates how complex and astonishing fragrance chemistry can be in nature!
