The tea aroma provided by phenethyl isobutyrate makes it a valuable ingredient in fragrances that mimic the warm, comforting notes of various tea varieties, from green tea to Earl Grey.
This ingredient serves as a bridge between the food and fragrance industries, as it is used both to impart flavor notes in foods and to create complex scents in aromatic products.
The laboratory production of phenethyl isobutyrate is an example of how modern chemistry contributes to protecting biodiversity by reducing the need for overexploitation of natural resources.
