Description
Sucrose Laurate is a sugar ester (sucrose combined with lauric acid) that functions as an emulsifier and oil thickener. It is an excellent ingredient for creating oil-based cleansing gels that turn into a milky emulsion upon contact with water. It is also 100% natural and, when combined with glycerin and oils under the trade name Sucragel, serves as the base for gentle yet effective moisturizing oil cleansers. According to a manufacturer study of 20 participants, skin is twice as hydrated 2 hours after using a Sucragel-based cleanser compared to using a moisturizing cleanser formulated with Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
