Broom was a component of the sacred incense kyphi in ancient Egypt, which was burned in honor of the gods and used in rituals from 1600 BC.
It belongs to the Fabaceae family, the same plant family as many familiar plants such as beans, peas, and acacia, making it one of the largest families of flowering plants in the world.
In the world of perfumery, broom is considered a multifunctional ingredient that can bridge different fragrance families, ranging from floral to oriental, adding depth and complexity to the composition.
