Description

Tea Absolute is a perfumery ingredient used less frequently than Mate Absolute. It offers distinctive tea notes and enriches compositions with tobacco, leather, wood, and dried fruit aromas. Adding it creates a natural feel in the final fragrance. Historically, tea was used primarily as a remedy to treat various ailments, depending on the variety. From a botanical perspective, tea comes from the leaves of a shrub belonging to the Theaceae family and the Camellia genus. Its use in perfumery highlights the multifaceted qualities of this ancient plant.

Additional information

The journey of tea into the world of fragrances is striking: it started as medicine in ancient China, evolved into a worldwide beverage, and eventually found a place in fine perfumery.
The extraction process for Tea Absolute is completely different from preparing the beverage. It requires solvent extraction to capture the volatile aromatic compounds of the leaves, creating a concentrated oil with an intense aroma.
Each tea variety offers a different aromatic profile: green tea has fresh, grassy notes, black tea offers deeper, smoky undertones, while white tea is characterized by delicate, floral notes.
