The use of synthetic ingredients such as cyclohexyl salicylate in the fragrance industry reduces pressure on natural ecosystems by limiting the need to harvest rare plants and flowers.
Every fragrance ingredient undergoes extensive safety testing that can take several years before it is approved for widespread use in consumer products.
