Dowanol belongs to the glycol ether family, chemical compounds capable of dissolving in both water and oils, making them ideal for use in complex fragrance blends.
Adding suitable solvents like Dowanol to scented candles can significantly affect the burn time and the intensity of the fragrance released into the space.
In technical fragrance terminology, solvents like Dowanol differ from basic solvents because they do not evaporate completely, remaining in the blend instead to maintain the stability of the formulation over time.
