Vetyvenal® is an excellent example of how modern fragrance chemistry utilizes compounds found in microscopic quantities in nature. While it occurs naturally in clove bud essential oil at less than 0.1%, synthetic production enables its widespread use in perfumery.
The milky texture that Vetyvenal® brings to fragrance compositions stems from its unique chemical structure, creating a sense of softness that transforms typically sharp woody scents into more complex and rich compositions.
Vetyvenal® is an important component in creating sustainable sandalwood alternatives in perfumery, helping protect natural resources since many sandalwood species face overexploitation issues.
