Description
Stearyl Alcohol is a versatile ingredient, appearing as a white to light yellowish lipophilic wax that performs very well in oil-in-water emulsions. It leaves skin feeling soft and smooth (emollient), stabilizes oil-water mixtures, and adds body to them. It is a so-called fatty alcohol, which is the beneficial, softening type of alcohol that is non-drying and non-irritating. It is often blended with another fatty alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, and the mixture is listed as Cetearyl Alcohol on ingredient labels.
