Description
Dipropylene Glycol is one of the most widely used solvents in the fragrance industry. It sees extensive use in both fine fragrances and functional scented products. As the most common solvent found in fragrance concentrates, it effectively dilutes raw materials and often replaces alcohol. Its primary function is a high solvency capacity for various ingredients, making it ideal for fragrance concentrates intended for shower gel bases, shampoos, creams, deodorants, reed diffusers, fabric softeners, household products, and dishwashing liquids, chiefly for stability and enhanced fragrance longevity.
Additional information
- Dipropylene Glycol has been used in the fragrance industry since 1927, making it one of the longest-standing ingredients in the history of perfumery.
- Although invisible to the consumer, Dipropylene Glycol is found in a strikingly large range of products, from fine fragrances to everyday household cleaners.
- Unlike alcohol, Dipropylene Glycol does not evaporate quickly, allowing fragrances to release gradually and last longer.
