The information here describes the ingredient in general. Its possible sources may vary and do not necessarily show the origin or form used in a particular YUMA product. For product-specific information, check the relevant product page.
Description
Sodium Laureth Sulfate is probably the most common cleansing ingredient. It is usually responsible for the large bubbles in cleansing products, although its lather is somewhat sparse rather than as dense as SLS. In terms of mildness, it falls somewhere in the middle. It is often confused with sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), but they are not the same at all. The SLES molecule has a larger water-soluble portion, making it milder and less irritating. It is considered completely safe in the amounts used in cosmetic products. For a typical shower gel, SLES works just fine.
Additional information
- Sodium Laureth Sulfate is a surfactant that helps mix oil and water, allowing the removal of impurities.
- It is known for its effective foaming properties, creating a rich lather in cleansing products.
- SLES is generally considered milder for the skin compared to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS).
