Ethyl isobutyrate is a key component in the characteristic aroma of certain wines, contributing to the fruity notes recognized by oenologists.
Due to its molecular structure, ethyl isobutyrate is highly volatile, which is why it is often found in the top notes of fragrances, the ones you perceive first when spraying a scent.
The lab-produced version of ethyl isobutyrate is chemically identical to the natural version, making it impossible even for the most trained noses to tell the difference between the two.
