Cassie Absolute is a complex fragrance ingredient extracted from the flowers of the Acacia farnesiana shrub within the Mimosaceae family. Its aroma is similar to Mimosa Absolute, but greener, deeper, and heavier. It is marked by watery cucumber notes, leathery nuances, and anise facets. The powdery note characteristic of Mimosa is less prominent in Cassie Absolute.
In perfumery, Cassie Absolute is primarily used in green and leather compositions, as well as to add depth to various fragrance accords. Combining it with heliotropine has led to the creation of a well-known fragrance base called Cassione.
It is important not to confuse it with Mimosa Absolute, even though both come from botanically similar trees. Cassie Absolute can be adulterated with Mimosa Absolute, isoeugenol, or blackcurrant base, which affects its quality and scent profile.
