The cooling sensation triggered by menthol on the skin is not due to an actual temperature drop, but rather the stimulation of cold receptors in our skin, creating an illusion of coolness.
The word "mint" has its roots in Greek mythology. According to the myth, Minthe was a nymph transformed into a mint plant by Persephone because of her relationship with Hades.
The mint plant family includes more than 20 different species used in perfumery and cooking, each with its own unique aroma and characteristics.
