Regulatory information
Alpha-Amylcinnamaldehyde is a well-studied and widely used fragrance ingredient. European Union scientific bodies have recognized it as a potential skin sensitizer, meaning it may cause temporary skin reactions such as redness, rashes, or itching. However, according to the safety assessment by the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM), the substance is considered an extremely weak sensitizer. The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) has established standards for its acceptable concentrations in consumer products. In an extensive study, 99.8% of participants reported no skin reaction to this substance.
