Woody notes in perfumery have a history spanning millennia, with ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians using cedarwood and sandalwood in religious ceremonies and for scenting their spaces.
Research shows that fragrances with woody notes can positively influence psychological state, offering a sense of stability, grounding and calm, which is why they are often used in aromatherapy practices.
Fragrances with prominent woody notes show seasonal popularity, with demand increasing significantly during the autumn and winter months when consumers prefer warmer and richer fragrance profiles.
