Ethyl methylphenylglycidate is also known in the fragrance industry as strawberry aldehyde or aldehyde C-16, names that reflect its characteristic scent.
Despite the intense strawberry aroma it provides, this ingredient does not exist in natural strawberries, as it is exclusively a product of laboratory synthesis.
The use of ethyl methylphenylglycidate is not limited to fragrances, but also extends to the food industry as a flavoring agent in strawberry-flavored sweets and beverages.
