Description
Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid is a chemical sunscreen agent that provides strong protection against UVB radiation in the 280-320nm range, with peak protection at 306 nm. Unlike most sunscreen agents, it is water-soluble rather than oil-soluble, making it ideal for creating lightweight formulas compatible with oily skin. It is also quite photostable and can be used to protect other less stable UV filters in a formula, such as the popular UVA filter avobenzone. It is globally approved and can be used at concentrations up to 4% in the US and up to 8% in the EU, offering reliable sun protection.
