Description
Asiatic Acid is one of the biologically active ingredients found in Gotu Kola. Although less well known than its related compound, asiaticoside, in-vitro laboratory studies indicate that Asiatic Acid stimulates the production of GAGs (glycosaminoglycans, which are polysaccharides that form part of the fluid matrix between skin cells) as well as type I collagen synthesis. This suggests it likely contributes to the well-known moisturizing and healing properties of Gotu Kola, helping to maintain skin health and elasticity.
