Litsea Cubeba oil is also known as May Chang or Mountain Pepper in various parts of Asia, names that reflect both its blooming season and the taste of its fruits.
In traditional Chinese medicine, the oil has been used for centuries to address digestive issues and relieve headaches.
Its intense lemon scent is due to a high content of citral, a compound that makes up to 85% of its composition, a percentage even higher than lemon oil itself.
Due to its natural insect-repellent properties, Litsea Cubeba oil is a key ingredient in many natural insect protection products, offering a pleasant alternative to synthetic chemicals.
