In traditional medicine across various cultures, plants rich in fenchone were used to relieve stomach disorders and respiratory issues, particularly fennel, which has been known for its therapeutic properties since antiquity.
In nature, plants produce fenchone as a defense mechanism against insects and pathogens. Its strong scent acts as a natural insect repellent, protecting the plant from potential invaders.
Perfumers use fenchone as a bridge between top and middle notes in a fragrance. Its ability to combine citrus with balsamic notes makes it a valuable ingredient in creating complex fragrance compositions.
