The information here describes the ingredient in general. Its possible sources may vary and do not necessarily show the origin or form used in a particular YUMA product. For product-specific information, check the relevant product page.
The evolution of synthetic fragrances began in the late 19th century, revolutionizing perfumery. Ingredients like cyclohexanone diethyl ketal are part of this evolution, allowing perfumers to achieve specific scent profiles with precision and consistency.
Although it may sound paradoxical, laboratory production of fragrance ingredients can be more environmentally friendly than extracting natural oils. For example, producing 1 kilogram of natural rose oil requires approximately 4,000 kilograms of rose petals, whereas synthetic alternatives can be produced with a much smaller environmental footprint.
The molecular structure of cyclohexanone diethyl ketal gives it its characteristic fruity and woody notes. When this molecule contacts olfactory receptors in the nose, it triggers specific neural pathways that the brain recognizes as this distinct scent.
The IFRA Standards form an industry self-regulatory system. They may prohibit or restrict the use of particular fragrance ingredients, or set specifications, according to end use. The status below reflects the IFRA data recorded for this ingredient. It is not a product certification and does not replace applicable law or assessment of the finished product.
