Description
PCA (Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) is an ingredient that, despite its complex name, occurs naturally in our skin. It is one of the skin's key Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF). Specifically, after amino acids, PCA is the second largest component of NMFs, making up about 12 percent of their composition in normal skin. Like other NMFs, PCA is a highly beneficial ingredient that helps the skin retain moisture, keeping it hydrated, soft and supple.
