Sweet orange oil has a long history of traditional uses dating back to ancient China and the Mediterranean region, where it was used not only for its scent but also for its therapeutic properties.
The primary component of sweet orange oil is limonene, which accounts for approximately 85-96% of its composition and is responsible for its characteristic citrus scent.
The production of sweet orange oil is an excellent example of sustainability in the fragrance industry, as it is often produced from orange peels that are a byproduct of the juice industry, thereby reducing waste.
