Do not confuse curry leaves with the curry spice blend! Despite their name, curry leaves are not an ingredient in supermarket curry powder, but are instead used fresh or dried in traditional recipes.
Murraya belongs to the Rutaceae family, the same botanical family as citrus fruits such as orange, lemon, and grapefruit, which accounts for some of its aromatic properties.
In traditional Ayurveda, curry leaves have been used for centuries for their properties, including supporting digestion and addressing inflammation.
