Ambergris, which serves as an inspiration for Metambrate, is a rare natural substance derived from sperm whales and used in perfumery for centuries. Modern synthetic ingredients like Metambrate offer an ethical alternative that protects marine life.
The smoke notes provided by Metambrate create depth and complexity in fragrances without using actual tobacco smoke. This property allows perfumers to create multidimensional compositions with warm, rich undertones.
In technical perfumery, ingredients like Metambrate that simultaneously influence multiple levels of a fragrance, from top notes to the base, are often referred to as bridging materials and are especially valuable for creating harmonious and balanced compositions.
