Narcissus is closely tied to Greek mythology, where the handsome youth Narcissus fell in love with his reflection in the water and was transformed into the flower of the same name, a story that reflects the captivating beauty of its scent.
The harvesting of narcissus flowers requires manual gathering and must take place in the early morning hours when the aromatic oils reach their maximum concentration, making it one of the most labor-intensive perfumery ingredients.
To yield the best fragrance, narcissus must be harvested at a specific period of its bloom, neither too early nor too late, creating a narrow time window that producers call the golden moment for harvesting.
