Ambrette seeds come from the Hibiscus abelmoschus plant, a member of the hibiscus family cultivated mainly in tropical regions of Asia.
Ambrette oil has a musky scent with floral undertones, making it a frequent natural substitute for animal-derived musk in perfumery.
In traditional perfumery, this ingredient is often paired with white florals as well as woody and oriental notes to build complex, multidimensional fragrances.
