Description
Tricyclodecenyl acetate is an aromatic ingredient that brings a sense of freshness and nature to formulations. With its characteristic herbal aroma, which strongly recalls freshly cut grass, it is widely used in perfumery. Its primary role is to add a vibrant green note, particularly in floral fragrances, enriching their composition and lending a natural, invigorating aura. Although manufactured in the laboratory through various synthesis methods, the fragrance industry increasingly turns to renewable raw materials for its production to support sustainability.
Additional information
- Tricyclodecenyl acetate acts as an aromatic bridge, uniting floral and green notes to create balanced and complex fragrances.
- Unlike the volatile green aldehydes of natural grass, tricyclodecenyl acetate offers a similar herbal feel with greater stability and longevity in the fragrance.
- The production of tricyclodecenyl acetate from renewable sources reflects the commitment of perfumery to sustainability, reducing the environmental footprint without sacrificing fragrance quality.
