Description
If you have ever wondered what those familiar small breath strips, like Listerine pockets, are made from, you have just found the answer. Pullulan is a polysaccharide polymer, meaning a complex, large molecule built from many smaller sugar units. It is water-soluble and, when applied to the skin, forms a thin, elastic, and hygroscopic film that delivers an immediate, visible tightening effect. In addition, Pullulan can serve as an effective gelling agent to give products a silicone-like feel, making it ideal for use in peel-off masks. It is produced by fungi through a fermentation process.
