Description
Ethyl vanillin is an aromatic ingredient with a sweet and intensely creamy scent reminiscent of butterscotch or rich caramel, enriched by a soft powdery note. This versatile ingredient is synthesized in a laboratory through various methods and is not extracted directly from natural sources. In modern perfumery, ethyl vanillin is valued for its ability to impart depth and longevity to compositions. In recent years, fragrance creators have increasingly turned to using renewable materials for its production, thereby contributing to sustainability and the conservation of the planet's natural resources.
Additional information
- Ethyl vanillin is 3 to 4 times more potent than natural vanillin, making it more cost-effective for fragrances and food.
- Ethyl vanillin was first synthesized in the late 19th century and is now one of the most popular synthetic aromatics worldwide.
- Chocolates, ice creams, and confections with an intense vanilla flavor often contain ethyl vanillin, thanks to its strong and stable flavor.
